Alfaprotech introduces its new generation of SmartShade motors

Quieter travel, faster response and lower standby consumption: the new SmartShade motor generation rolls out across the Alfaprotech pergola and awning range.

A quieter way to move

Every shading system is used daily, often several times a day, so the motor behind it matters more than any other component. The new SmartShade generation cuts operating noise by roughly a quarter compared with the previous series, which is especially noticeable on bioclimatic roofs, where up to two hundred blades reposition themselves in a single movement.

Faster response, lower consumption

Travel speed has increased by about a third, so the roof reaches the desired position before the weather changes rather than after it. At the same time a redesigned standby circuit reduces consumption to a fraction of a watt, meaning the motor is ready at all times without measurably affecting a household's electricity bill.

Weather intelligence built in

SmartShade motors pair natively with the Alfaprotech sensor set. When the anemometer registers a gust above threshold, the blades close automatically; when rain falls, the roof shifts to its drainage position without anyone reaching for a remote. Every reaction is logged, so installers can review events during maintenance visits.

Across the range, and backwards compatible

The new generation is available on the motorized zip-screen pergolas and solar LED retractable models from this season, and the control protocol remains compatible with existing Alfaprotech remotes and app modules. Customers who installed a motorized system in previous years can upgrade the motor alone during a scheduled service, keeping the structure, fabric and wiring untouched.
